Adam Gunnell is the founder and owner of Palmers Accounting – a Practice based in Tring in the Southwest of England. Adam isn’t your typical accountant. He spent over 20 years working as a senior executive in the recruitment industry before training as an accountant in 2014. Adam’s mission was, and remains, to use his experience of working in a fast-moving industry to help other businesses maximise growth opportunities. Providing accounting services to small and medium sized enterprises and advocating the effective use of financial information allows Adam to bring his unique insight to help his customers thrive.
When Adam set up his Practice, he quickly realised he was unlikely to deliver his ambitions for growth and profitability through ongoing recruitment. While full-time accountants continue to work in key areas to secure new business and deliver complex tax, accounting and advisory work, the Practice needed access to a team of experienced professionals Adam could rely on to deliver recurring work such as bookkeeping, payroll and accounts preparation. Using an outsourced solution was the natural choice for Palmers Accounting to deliver work flexibly and to manage the inevitable peaks in workload for the growing Practice.
Initor Global has been working with Palmers Accounting since 2018. The Practice is popular with clients in the Hospitality and Entertainment sector and has high volumes of work to deliver for bookkeeping and VAT accounting around seasonal peaks in the year. The return to normal economic conditions after the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021 meant a significant increase in workload for the Practice, with clients resuming business and new clients approaching the Practice for services.
As the Practice grew, Initor Global provided more full-time accountants to work with Adam’s team and we also provide payroll services to its clients. Finding an effective payroll solution was important to the Practice growth strategy, with many clients requiring specialist support to manage weekly and monthly payrolls which change significantly according to seasonal demand.
